The Gather Table is a piece of sculptural furniture that integrates various woodworking techniques. Crafted with precision and artistic flair, it showcases a captivating blend of form and function. The table's foundation is meticulously formed through stack lamination, where thick wood layers are stacked and bonded, creating a strong and visually captivating base. The table's graceful curves are achieved using bent laminations, skillfully shaping and joining wood strips to evoke a sense of fluidity and movement. Hand sculpting further imparts the sense of fluidity through the meticulous carving of the wood to create organic forms. The piece also features intricate cedar bark weaving on its lower section, a nod to traditional craftsmanship that introduces an element of natural beauty. The Gather Table stands as a testament to the seamless integration of stack lamination, bent laminations, hand sculpting, and cedar bark weaving, resulting in a functional work of art that celebrates craftsmanship and nature's beauty.
