Fragment demonstrates the possibilities of modularity. The design uses a single symmetric, and repeating module to create a series of beautiful sculptural tables. Within the module design are five joinery variants, enabling each unique table iteration to be organically generated. Each iteration of Fragment comprises a sculptural wooden base and a functional glass top. Inspired by cell-reproduction and the photomicrography of bone, the design beautifully exhibits the dichotomy of natural geometry — symmetry creating a sense of order and asymmetry producing a feeling of chaos. Meticulously handcrafted, each module elegantly combines joinery with form, demonstrating an uncompromising approach to craftsmanship. Beneath the glass top surface, the quality of this craftsmanship is showcased as a sequence of meeting surfaces and exposed joinery. Fragment is bespoke. Each component is customisable in size, arrangement, timber species, tints, and colours. Fragment is made from American white ash with clear glass, or American black walnut with grey tinted glass. Each table measures (L) 380mm x (W) 380mm x (H) 370mm.
