Ethereal Dancing was made from a white oak branch that fell on my property. This piece was created with the rhythms of life in mind. It speaks to the pain, the integration and the rebirth of life. It was made through the rhythms of trial and error, learning, and then success. The process that I used is a metaphor to the messages I wanted to convey. That through the pain and the trauma of life, if we look within and create space, we unlock the potential to unfold a new reality. In my piece I carve away wood, creating space inside and then steam the piece and bend it into a new more expansive piece. This piece embodies the rhythms of learning. First I had many trials that failed, I learned, and then I had success bringing this piece to completion. So as we dance with the ethereal, let the rhythms be in balance and harmony. Let us listen to the pause between the beats and become aware of the space between the breaths and feel that expansion.
