Matthew Taubman, Entertainment Unit (STUDENT 2021)

As part of my year 12 Industrial Technology major work, I undertook the process of building a Tv/Entertainment Unit. I constructed the main carcass from Blackbutt and the drawer carcasses from Tasmanian Oak with walnut inlays across the piece. I wanted the unit to be a functioning piece of furniture within the room, however stand out with features of aesthetic complexity. In the process of planning the project I wanted to create a simplistic piece of furniture, nevertheless something that offered a degree of difficulty hence the trapezoidal style carcass. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the piece to be enjoyed by friends and family and exited to take on future projects.
