Inspired by Scandinavian restraint, Emdrup Stool was an exercise in simplifying form and exploring what one can get away with not including. The seat was freehand powercarved and shaped to follow the human form for maximum comfort, with smooth transitions between the seat and the legs. Three turned legs insert, via chunky mortise and tenon joinery, into the base of the seat and are angled about two planes of symmetry for stability and aesthetic delight. A single rung supports the feet for comfortable sitting for a wide range of users. This model is made entirely from European Beech and finished with Osmo Hardwax Oil.
