A 4.5 meter banquette seat, East End furnishes a suite in the East End apartments, overlooking Newcastle Harbour. Collaborating with the architect, the bench is designed to reflect the semi-circle geometry throughout the building and the grandeur of the space. With exacting detail, the highly refined piece is fabricated from figured and fiddleback Spotted Gum, with a solid frame base and tight laminated radiuses bordering the seat and back - making for an an extremely challenging build. The seat and back are upholstered in Italian perforated Pelle leather, 10mm proud above the bull-nosed edging. East End is made in 2 parts with the back being an independent component, mounted to the wall with a French cleat.
