Jason Dingli, Display Cabinet (Student Awards 2019)
A need existed for a display cabinet to be constructed to suit the small, retro space in a teenager’s rumpus room. The display cabinet, made out of Tasmanian oak, was designed to store multiple diecast cars, and everyday objects such as remote controls and video games. As a result, shelving and a large drawer meet the needs of the client. The display cabinet showcases mitre joined frames with cross halving joints separating the glass panels, domino widened bases and shelves and rebate jointed drawer. The display cabinet was finished with three coats of clear varnish following several hours of sanding. Year 12, Clancy Catholic College. Teacher: Michael Magnussen
