Samson Rodway, curved coffee table (STUDENT 2021)

For my year 12 major I wanted to make a coffee table for my pearents house. I wanted the coffee table to feature a curved theme as well as using only australian native timbers, inspired by the australian bush it will look onto. The deign neded to be contempery yet clasic to complinent the styling of the house. I wanted the design to show a certain level of dificulty whilst still keeping within my skill level. The design features legs curved across two axes that protude through the bottom shelf with a combination of steam bending and lamination. This is complimented by curved inlays in the top and a curved drawer handle. The consistant curved theme provides an easy to look at design that dosnt overpower but remains a feature. I wanted the table to also be practical, with a bottem shelf usefull for holding books and magasines and a suficiant dovetail, piston fit drawer. The table is made from Victorian ash and blackwood
