Teagan Vella, Credenza (Student Awards 2019)

For my HSC major I manufactured a piece of furniture that is suited to a high end modern living area, The use of curved round over legs softens the carcase to create a unique piece without the harsh sharpness of the edges. The Tasmanian fiddleback bookmatched veneers are highlighted with a polyurethane finish to give a shine this aesthetic piece. To tie in the contrast of colours I used a silver ash solid for the stand, drawers, inlay and as a downgrade veneer leaf for the inside of the carcase these colours worked well together as the Tasmanian fiddleback solid drawer fronts have light edge that matched with the silver ash.
