Terry O'Loughlin, Continuous Arm Windsor (Furniture)

Starting with a steambent arm, I constructed the chair following the philosophy and techniques of Thomas Moser, firstly without any applied decoration, and secondly replacing stretchers with laminated knees to reinforce the legs. The seat is through bored for the legs and spindles, which are wedged in place. The arm is likewise bored through (except for the fourth from each end which is at too steep an angle) and and the spindles are also wedged. Species are oak (Quercus sp.) for the arm, blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon) for the seat and legs, and eucalypt for the spindles and knees.
