Made in my final year of school, and now set to be displayed at the Melbourne museum as a part of the top designs exhibition. My work draws inspiration from 1980’s flowing furniture design combined with modern, contemporary use of geometrical angles. My coffee table has been designed to be functional and visually appealing. I took an interest in pushing native timbers, Victorian Ash and Jarrah, to their limits. Emphasising the unique and natural features of the wood. My piece reflects the Australian landscape regarding how we, as humans have attempted to manipulate and change it, yet the natural beauty remains prominent.
