I designed this chest of drawers with a Scandinavian aesthetic and created it using traditional joinery such as Hand cut dovetails and wedged through mortise and tenon joints. The rounded legs created a modern look that complemented the cheveron fronts. The drawer fronts are highlighted by the 45 degree angle drawer pull rather than having handles. I created this piece for my HSC Major Project with the intention of creating a modern adaptation of a traditional piece of furniture to put in my bedroom. The combination of modern and traditional methods of joinery has resulted in a quality piece of furniture that will hopefully last for a long time.
