This piece was made specifically for a group exhibition this Janurary (2024) at Laree Payne in Hamilton, NZ. It was a take on a previous hall table of similar proportions i made about 5 years ago , designed to hold a few special items and fit within a small gallery. The hall table is both functional and a little sculptural /impractical. I had fun placing the legs in a way that made the table balance but also have the slight look like it might fall over (it is very balanced ) shop sawn cherry veneers for asymmetrical oval-ish table top, laminated lipping for top, tapered laminated curve for the mid rail , hand shaped tapered legs with a sort of lozenge shape, curved joinery underneath linking the legs, all in American Cherry.
