An ergonomic focused hardwood chair, utilising a mixture of traditional seat base contours inspired by windsor style chairs, a fully contoured and supportive back more typical of ergonomic office chairs, and striking cantilevered leg and seat bridle joint construction. Ergonomics are the hero of this piece, making the most of the contoured surfaces that interact with the body, to distribute pressure achieving the comfort typical of an upholstered chair, providing excellent ergonomics and back support. Allowing this to be used as an all day task chair, or luxurious dining chairs. The design and construction utilises a fusion of traditional hand finished joinery, with modern CNC machining of the main ergonomic surfaces, that enabled both the accurate iterative refinement of the ergonomic geometries, accurate small batch manufacture to a high quality tolerance, and customisation to indivudal requirements in a cost effective manner. Presented here in a beautiful contrast of American Cherry, and Australian Jarrah, highlighting the constrasting contoured surfaces in the lighter timber, with the dark structural angluar elements. Finished with an environmentally safe and durable oil and wax finish, simplifying any ongoing maintenance for a high use piece, giving a natural sheen that accentuates the natural beauty of the timber.
