Brian Dawson, CC BOX (BOWLS, BOXES 2021)

CC BOX ( coloured and curvy) Whilst playing with ideas to curve and colour boxes, I came up with this sliced box solution with overlapping projections, each face of the box showing a different profile both inside the box and outside. By the time I had added colour to the projecting edges I thought it would add visual impact to see both the inside and the outside. First I considered a glass lid but acrylic proved to be more malleable and flexible The acrylic is fixed with stainless steel pegs The bottom is figured Huon pine veneer Paint is water based and sealed The timber is Huon pine finished with shellac and Kunos natural oil sealer
