The spindles have been shaped from locally grown white oak with tapered tenons formed. The seat has been hand formed from elm, a traditional chair making timber for seats due to is resistance to splitting . The legs & stretchers have been turned from White ash, green sawn white ash has been used to form a steam bent crinoline stretcher. The chair has been constructed with traditional tapered, mortice & tenon joints, wedged & glued with hide glue to allow for the chair to be repaired. The chair has been finished in Osmo PolyX-Oil.
