I designed this cantilever desk out of Victorian Ash and Red Gum. The design inspiration for this desk came from a combination of, creating a desk similar to the one my mother made when she was my age, and looking at past designs within the HSC and realising its not just about the size of the project but the small details that make it original. This desk uses a variety of different modern and traditional joining techniques but the laminated legs that curve throughout the desk, and the feature strip made from individual triangular components, made up of both Red Gum and Victorian Ash are eye catching qualities that make this desk unique. These different joining techniques have created an original creative workplace that will last for generations to come.
