Sam Johnson, Cabinet on Stand (Furniture)
James Krenov inspired cabinet in US maple, New Guinea rosewood back and drawer front, perched on a Queensland maple stand. The shelf supports and the handles are hand carved from Australian desert timber nelia and are pleasantly tactile to the touch. This cabinet was an exercise in design. I wanted to create something that was subtle but on closer inspection the viewer would realise that every aspect has been consciously decided on during the creation of the piece. With hand cut cabinetry and traditional drawer construction this piece is build to be passed down through generations. Dimensions 1280 h x 335 w x 200 d
