Joseph Vallelonga , Buffet Cabinet (Student Awards 2019)
For my Year 12 major work project, I constructed a modern Japanese inspired buffet cabinet, using images found on Pinterest as inspiration. I chose to design a buffet cabinet which would challenge and allow me to express my woodworking skills. The dimension of this cabinet is 1400 x 680 x 850mm. The construction of my buffet cabinet utilises a variety of woodworking techniques so as to aid in the visual appeal of my project. The combination of vibrant colours from both the American oak and American walnut wood, together with red felt drawer bases, further contributes to the unique visual appearance of my finished work.
