Brian Davey, Bookshelf with reed pattern carved drawers (CHESTS, CABINETS & BOXES 2023)

This Michael Pekovich inspired bookshelf is made from new white oak and some very old oak from a damaged cabinet. The back is shiplapped and the drawers are hand cut dovetails. The hand carved pulls have a comfortable recess for your thumb. The through tenons and dovetails that hold the cabinet together are also hand cut and are proud. A carved reed pattern is continuous across the drawers. Finish is a coat of shellac followed by Danish oil.
