What’s worse than not knowing how to open a drawer? With the big pull bench, you're guaranteed to never have this problem. Made of European beech and finished with wax/oil, this bench features flowing curves at every junction. These curved interfaces had been stuck in my head for a long time, inspired by the idea of continuous edges wrapping up and down and around the piece. Feels good to get them out into the physical world and interact with them. The solid beech drawer is side hung on beech runners with a big pull. The lid is hinged with SOSS invisible hinges and a custom brass and cotton webbing lid stay. With ample storage in either the drawer or the lidded compartment, this bench is perfect for an entryway, able to hold hats, gloves, key, and whatever your furry friend may need for outdoor adventures. This piece was made almost entirely on the CNC, something I had been hoping to do for a long time. It was great to finally work through the challenges, drawbacks, and benefits of fully embracing CNC.
