I originally designed this lamp for a class on bending wood. I didn't have an idea about the aspects around lighting. I took a lighting design course at the Center for Furniture Craftsman ship and learned enough about options for the hardware and a shade. I was having a difficult time figuring out the cord and then decided to made it a focal part of the design.
