Remy Tramoy, Becoming (Furniture)

Solid American walnut dresser unit with six poplar drawers that feature hand cut dovetails and traditional runners. Mid Century Modern with a personal touch, this piece is all about a simple yet elegant form that lets the grain speak first. The cascade and rounded corners are the main signature. Each understated detail adds to the aesthetic and tactile experience, without detracting from the main event. Every surface, external and internal, has been finished with oils and wax, giving a natural feel that will only get better with age. The name of this piece, “Becoming”, refers to the time in my life that the making of this piece coincided with—my entry into parenthood when we welcomed our twins into the world.
