A kauri pine wall cabinet with hand-tool finger joints, bridle joints and dadoes for door slats. The name Amsler refers to the grid chart used to diagnose vision problems, as seen in the criss-cross of the slats when the doors of the cabinet slide past each other. The finger joints of the carcase and the exposed dadoes for the slats in the doors are cut by hand, with the shapes echoing one other. The North Qld kauri pine was troublingly soft to work, but has attractive fine dark lines running along the board.
