Kieran Maguire, American Walnut and Brass Jewellery Box (CHESTS, CABINETS & BOXES 2023)

This is a jewellery box made from American Walnut and incorporates hand cut brass splines as well as a hand shaped brass handle. For the lid, I designed and CNC cut a geometric pattern which was filled with a mix of resin and brass powder (not pigment). Inside, the base was lined in forest green velvet with the internal walls being made from Okoume. The internal tray is also made from Okoume, is piston fit and features thin Walnut splines to echo the external box walls.
