David Priest, American oak and walnut TV unit (CHESTS, CABINETS, SHELVING 2022)

Mid-century-inspired TV unit. The centrepiece for this design was an angled divider between the drawers and the walnut shelf. This complements the base's cross-shaped aprons, which visually disappear towards the cabinet centre under standard viewing angles. The case is constructed from veneered American white oak. A chamfer was inset on the front face to align with the quartersawn orientation of the solid oak banding and lighten the look of the unit.
