Paul Jupp, American Cherry Tea Cabinet (Furniture)
A split cabinet of my own design and part of my furniture intensive course at the School of Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport Maine, USA. I designed the cabinet during my course last year and completed it on my return to Australia. It has cock beaded drawers, half blind dovetail top case, spline mitred lower case and bookmatched shopsawn veneer doors. The timber is American cherry finished with three coats of shellac, two coats of burnishing oil and one coat pf cabinet wax.The butterflies are pyrographed into rock maple. The drawer cases are rock maple.
