For my Design Technology MDP I created a sophisticated collection of timber men’s accessories. Within this, I created a bowtie, cufflinks, belt buckle and key-ring. In addition to the physical objects I also designed the brand and advertising for my company, Town & Timber.
My brief was to fuse timber with fashion in a modern way. As a point of difference I wanted to only use Australian timbers. For the ‘handmade’ feel I tried to use hand tools as much as I could e.g. carving chisels. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of design/ making and would be keen to expand the range in the future.
