NZ cherrybeech and Danish beech, aluminium, steel
300 w x 1750mm h

The design of this lamp was inspired by the designs of various other lamps that I studied. I designed it not only to have a practical purpose, but also to allow me to expand me skills and knowledge of techniques. The shade of the lamp is simply a piece of wire mesh welded into a circle, painted, and then woven with veneer. The upright pieces of the lamp are inserted into square holes, and the horizontal pieces in the middle are mitred with half of their thickness. The central aluminium tube houses the cable for the light bulb, and the lamp is mounted on chromed plastic feet.
