The Winners! AWR Maker of the Year
Finally, it's time to announce the winner and runners-up for Australian Wood Review's Maker of the Year 2020!
There were four entry categories Furniture, Bowls & Boxes, Art & Accessories and Student. Entry was via our website where entry criterion and other information may be found. The 306 entries received ranged from all manner of furniture, lighting, cabinetry, hand tools, musical instruments, boxes and vessels to sculptural works.
Award winners were determined by a panel of experts whose formal qualifications span the disciplines of engineering, architecture, design and education as well as trade skills. A prize pool of over $15,000 was on offer – see what each award winner receives here.
Maker of the Year is

Maker of the Year 2020 was presented by 3M Australia, a company known for its scientific innovations and far reaching, research-driven products. The December issue (109) of Australian Wood Review magazine highlights the top ten entries for each category in a 12 page feature which includes comments and tips from the judges. Australian Wood Review is available from newsagents and selected retailers.
