TEXTURA is the culmination of a year’s work for the full-time furniture students who have travelled from all over Australia to learn intensively from some of the world’s finest master makers. The 12 budding makers will graduate in a formal ceremony in Clubbe Hall at 11am followed by a celebration in the gallery from noon and all are welcome to attend.
It has been said that head hunters from industry as well as fine furniture appreciators will flock to Sturt for the very special event which is a highlight for many on the woodworking and designer/maker calendar. Last year half of the cohort were named in Maker of the Year awards including overall winner Jess Humpston. Head of Sturt, Kristie Phelan is thrilled with the standard of work this year and is sure many of the students will have an exciting future in furniture designing and making.
