This piece of furniture is a Queen Size Bed that I made for my major work for 2015. I wanted to make a high quality major work and by making a bed I am able to keep it for when I move out of home later in life. I used Tasmanian oak because it is an aesthetically pleasing type of timber. The grain looks so good especially with the type of finished I used. The types of different joinery I used were mitre, halving, biscuit and domino, mortise and tenon and butt joints. I wanted to make a bed with huge storage and lighting so I built in drawers and built in downlights inside the shelf.
