New Hare & Forbes store opens in Adelaide

Hare & Forbes Machinery House has expanded its footprint, with the opening of a new store in Adelaide, South Australia in June. This marks a significant milestone for the family-owned Australian business as it seeks to better serve its customer base in the region.

The new store, boasting over 4,300 sqm, will offer a wide range of machinery and equipment catering to various industries including metalworking, woodworking, automotive and fabrication. This is the fifth Hare & Forbes Machinery House store, with existing branches in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane.

“We’re really pleased to finally be trading in Adeliade” says Rick Foster, General Manager. “This project has been in the plans for almost five years, it’s really exciting for us to invest in a brick-and-mortar store in a new location”. 

The new store's launch underscores Hare & Forbes' dedication to innovation and growth, as well as its ongoing commitment to its customers, as it has done for over 90 years. Through its extensive product offerings, knowledgeable staff, and dedication to customer service, Hare & Forbes aims to become the go-to destination for engineering machinery and accessories.

Store Manager, Jim Burton, brings a wealth of experience and will look after the almost-dozen full time staff, which includes a CNC specialist and after sales support. “After running my own machinery business for over two decades, it was an easy decision and great opportunity to join the team”, said Jim. “The interest we’ve had already from the public and my old customers has been incredible.”

Now with five stores across Australia, Hare & Forbes employs 220 staff and ranges over 5,000 products, specialising in engineering, metal and wood machinery. As the company continues to expand its reach, the opening of the new store in Adelaide reinforces its commitment to serving the needs of the engineering and manufacturing communities nationwide.

Unit 11/20 Cheltenham Parade, Woodville, SA, 5011 (entry via Alexander Avenue).
Opening hours are  Mon – Fri 8am-4:30pm and Sat 8:30am-12:30pm.
