Vic ash
The task was to produce a modern interpretation of a classic hall table. Classic hall tables were studied to isolate key features. Practical elements were transferred to the design, and unnecessary features were removed to create a modern piece of furniture. The result was a streamlined modern hall table.
The legs were made from Victorian ash with veneer added to one side to make a clean look. The flat surfaces were made by gluing together strips of timber of varying widths and the overall sructure was assembled by using dowel joins, drilled with vertical and horizontal drill presses.
