Maleny Expo Welcomes Pacific Island Carvers

Maleny Wood Expo will this year welcome visitors from New Caledonia and from the Marquesas Islands. Sculptors Cecile Sakilia from Mont Dore (New Caledonia) and Tekohu Taupotini (Kohu) from the Marquesas Islands will visit Expo as part of the Sister Cities exchange program. During this year’s Maleny Wood Expo, the visiting artists will work with traditional carving tools.

Set amongst the picturesque Sunshine Coast hinterlands, the 2017 Maleny Wood Expo takes place this year from Saturday March 31 to Monday April 1.
The Expo hosts an exciting program of displays from commercial and non-profit organisations, as well as talks and workshops that focus on all things wood and trees combined with local food and music to create a festival atmosphere.
