Hannah Cabinet finally on road to repair and recovery
It’s more than two and half years since Geoff Hannah’s eponymous masterpiece was found floating on its back in the flood waters inundating Lismore Regional Art Gallery.
Since then, the Hannah Cabinet has lain in storage in the cold storage facility it was subsequently sent to in Canberra.
With insurance issues finally resolved, restoration can now begin. Geoff Hannah will oversee the process that will see renowned conservator Greg Peters lead a team that will bring the cabinet back to life.
After a fundraising campaign the cabinet was publicly acquired to be housed in the Lismore Regional Art Gallery where it will return in an estimated two and a half years time.
