I designed this table for the entrance of my house. It has a rustic feel with a classy finish. I used the two different types of timber to create a contrast between the two, enhancing the colours in both of timbers.
To make the carcase I used dovetail joints at each of the corners. This gave the carcase improved strength and an interesting look. I used housing joints for the divider in the carcase.
To make the legs I cut an angle in them all to provide an interesting design and used a extra piece of timber at the bottom to add a feature and improve the strength of the legs as it was holding the carcase.
I used the floating look to enhance the design of my project. The finish used on my project was polyurethane spray.
