With early training in engineering and architecture Grant Vaughan went on to become one of Australia's best known wood sculptors. His bowls, freestanding and wall mounted forms are inspired by natural forms and characterised by their crisp yet free flowing lines and subtle curves.

Grant Vaughan's work has featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is held in public and private collections throughout the world. The latter include the National Gallery of Australia, Parliament House Art Collection, Powerhouse Museum in Sydney and the Museum of Fine Art in Boston.

In July an exhibition of his work titled Gesture of Balance will be shown at Lismore Gallery, NSW. A collection of 13 pieces include works which feature new colourisation and texturing directions in the artist's work. While Grant has exhibited throughout Australia, the USA and UK this will be his first solo exhibition in the Northern Rivers region where he lives.
