Isabel Atienza, a local artisan dedicated to crafting high-quality leather goods for makers and woodworkers, has been named the winner in the retail category at the 29th Sunshine Coast Business Awards in Queensland. The award was presented to her business, En Mina leather, at a gala dinner at the Sunshine Coast Convention Centre on Saturday, 9 November.

As the sole person behind En Mina Leather, Isabel expressed profound gratitude for the honour. "I started En Mina Leather out of a deep love for craftsmanship, a desire to honour lost trades, and the joy of creating high-quality leather goods right here on the Sunshine Coast," she said. "I use only Australian-sourced materials, so each piece truly reflects the quality and values I hold dear."

Founded as a small, independent business in 2022, En Mina Leather has gained a loyal following among makers, artisans, and woodworking enthusiasts. "This recognition is incredibly meaningful to me as a sole trader. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but the support of my amazing customers, our local maker community, and my family has kept me inspired and dedicated," Isabel added. "Thank you to everyone who believes in what I do and in the mission to bring quality, tradition, and connection to the forefront."
