The wraps are off and the news is out! Arbortech has every reason to be excited about its brand new product release. Company founder and key tool inventor Kevin Inkster claims to have been seeking a solution to the difficult task of sanding and finishing sculpted forms for over 30 years. ‘Finally’, he said, ‘we have developed a method that not only does the job well, but surpasses all our expectations’.

The Contour Random Sander is a patented angle grinder attachment with a powerful random orbital sanding action. The flexible sanding pad can rotate and moulds into and around wood undulations without burning or digging in.

Launched at Maleny’s Wood Expo in early May, Arbortech’s new Contour Random Sander sold out on the first day, leaving many customers sadly forced to wait for their ordered tools to arrive by mail. Arbortech tools are sold all over the world, but Australia always gets first dibs at new products, says marketing co-ordinator Yen Tran, who noted that overseas release of the new sanding attachment will soon follow.

Queenslanders did however get their second chance at Brisbane’s Timber & Working With Wood Show, May 16–18, where the new tool also attracted a lot of interest.
