A wonderful weekend of wood in the Blackall Ranges
Members of the Blackall Range Woodcrafters Guild Inc support numerous groups and charities throughout the Sunshine Coast, Qld.
Each year since 1996, Blackall Range Woodcrafters Guild Inc has supported the Barung Maleny Wood Expo by conducting a large display of woodcraft made by its members, and by conducting a children’s workshop. Regrettably this year the Barung Maleny Wood Expo won’t be held at its regular time in May, but BRWG has decided to conduct an open weekend event on 3–4 May. 2025.
The Guild is a non-profit registered charity, and since it was formed 28 years ago, has donated quality woodcraft to a huge number of Sunshine Coast community organizations, including Salvation Army Children’s Christmas Toy Appeal, Wishlist, SCUH and Maroochydore Catholic Church. The Guild has also engaged in notable public projects such as the Mary Cairncross Doors and outfitting the Sunshine Coast University Hospital Chapel in 2019.
As part of its 2025 open weekend event, the Guild is holding a competition among its members, who have also made some special raffle prizes, including a lovely jacaranda coffee table like the one shown above made by Julie, a past president.
