Video: making the marquetry Jay-Bird Whiskey Cabinet
It’s no secret that many, if not all, our Maker of the Year awards entrants are multi-skilled. When that talent extends to producing videos that document the making of their work, it gives us the opportunity to see their processes.
Ronnie Rozenga lives in Holland and entered his Jay-Bird Whisket Cabinet in the World category of Maker of the Year. You can see his entry here.
In this video Ronnie invites us into his well set up workshop for a tour through the processes of making his piece. And if you don’t speak Dutch, it’s no problem – this is a leisurely paced half hour long video, without any voice-overs, that takes you through the many processes of making a very complex cabinet. There are many tips along the way, for example, did you know that lemon juice will help to preserve the colour of purpleheart?
