Squatters Chair 1 of 4

This year I decided to try my hand at furniture building, so I asked around at school and my teacher came up with some plans for a squatter’s chair from a school on the coast. Using these plans I adapted my own design and started pulling apart the pallets that were to be used as the framework. After the tedious task of reclaiming the timber from the pallets I cut out the basic shapes of the arms and back legs. After this I turned the front legs and the two front pillars than I jointed all of the pieces together. After all of the joinery was finished I glued, stained and varnished. Then I sourced some canvas and sewed it to form the seat, after sewing and putting the grommets into the canvas I tied it onto the frame and my squatters chair was finally done.
