This book could be just the shot to fire your creative juices. A neat printed package of 21 varied items that you can utilise your best shorts and special pieces of figured wood on.

There are six boxes ranging from simple to quite fancy that will also teach you a range of techniques. Part two includes a cutting board, picture frames, chessboard and lamps, while part three includes a carver’s mallet, chisel handles, wood planes and a tool chest. The last part includes some shelves, a step stool and a blanket chest.

All projects are explained with great photos, diagrams and text but you will have to ‘translate’ the imperial measurements into metric if need be.

A good book for beginner to intermediate woodworkers.
